Exercise-induced bronchoconstrition (EIB) is a common disorder that occurs in persons with asthma, and in individuals without a prior diagnosis of asthma, especially in elite athletes. New Insights Into Airway Function During and After Exercise in the Asthmatic Athlete provides an overview of recent advances in this area. The DVD addresses a number of key factors attendant to the asthmatic athlete, including airway immunopathology leading to EIB, indirect bronchial provocation diagnostic tests used to identify EIB, airway (dys)function during exercise in the asthmatic athlete, and novel non-pharmacological interventions targeting the pathogenesis of EIB.
