Today`s undergraduate students, most of who were born after 1982, are predominately classified as the "millennial," "generation Y," or the "echo boom" generation. The majority of millennials have had "helicopter" parents who are still intricately involved with their education. This situation has led to a "consumerism" attitude among many students, where some students view education as something to purchase rather than a learning process. In a generation that has grown up with the Internet, cell phones, iPods, MySpace/Facebook, and the Xbox, one of the key issues is how can athletic training educators compete for the students` attention in and out of the classroom? Millennial Students: Using Technology to Teach and Assess Athletic Training Knowledge reviews why athletic training educators need to understand how the millennial student learns, as well as how millennial students learn best. The DVD also explains how faculty can adapt to the relevant learning styles that are appropriate in the `real world` of athletic training.

Produced in cooperation with the National Athletic Trainers` Association (NATA).
