Acute skin trauma, such as abrasions, avulsions, blisters, incisions, lacerations, and punctures, sustained during athletic and recreational activities is relatively common. On the other hand, guidelines to direct clinical decisions and management techniques for handling these wounds are somewhat limited. Acute Wound Management Evidence-Based Techniques examines the principles of acute-wound management and the techniques and goals of evidence-based cleansing, debridement, and dressing methods. The DVD also looks at the application of the techniques, daily monitoring, and follow-up care for the patient and athlete who has an acute wound.
